Community Health

The health and well-being of our tangata whaiora is our priority. We provide a variety of health services across Te Waipounamu, including:

  • Community Health & Hepatitis C Service in Ōtautahi Christchurch

  • A mobile, peer-led hepatitis C screening and treatment service operating throughout Te Waipounamu

  • Weekly Nurse Practitioner Service at our Ōtautahi Christchurch needle exchange

  • Weekly Health Service at our Ōtepoti Dunedin needle exchange

We’re here to support people who inject or use drugs, advocating for harm reduction and providing a trusted, non-judgmental front door to services.

What is HealthOne?

HealthOne is a South Island based secure electronic record that allows registered healthcare providers directly involved in your healthcare, to quickly access information such as your test results, allergies, medications, GP summaries and hospital information. HealthOne adheres to the principles of the Privacy Act 2020 as well as the Rules set out in the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.  Access is only possible via an approved highly secure healthcare information network which is regularly audited and tested.  Privacy auditing is used to check that only those directly involved in your care are accessing your information.

Healthcare for Kaewa

DISC Trust runs a weekly health clinic in Christchurch for people experiencing homelessness (kaewa). Clinical Nurse Lead, Leah, shares how they create a safe space for kaewa to discuss their health concerns and ask questions in this short video.
